Grandparents: our partners in ministry
With so many blended and transient families today, many children are growing up without the blessing of grandparents near them. The Camp ALOMA Camp Grandparent program offers children a chance to have that grandparent for a week. And for those grandparents whose grandchildren may be grown or living far away, the program provides opportunity to spend time with eager campers making priceless memories.
You're never too old for a week at camp!
Our camp grandparents will have the opportunity to share, visit, laugh and develop a loving bond with campers. They will enjoy a week in the pines west of Prescott, Arizona, away from the hustle & bustle (not to mention the heat) of the big city. Most weeks, housing will be available at Hope lodge - apart from the campers' quarters.
Camp Grandparent duties:
Assist with evening cabin devotions.
Assist with Bible studies. (as needed)
Counsel campers with special needs.
Be available for "chats" with campers.
Act as loving grandparents to all campers.
Be involved in various camp activities as time & interest allow.
Be available for "story time."
Be available for prayers.
Most of our Camps begin at 3:00pm on Sunday and conclude at 1:00pm on Friday. Our Tenderfoot Camps follow a different schedule as printed in the Summer Camp brochure.
If you would like to be a camp grandparent, please check out our summer programming for available weeks. Then, contact camp with your first two session choices. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule and look forward to having you join the ALOMA family. For more information, contact Shirley Urie at Camp ALOMA.
